ABA ROLI is a non-profit program that implements legal reform programs in roughly 50 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 500 professional staff working abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organizations, including human rights groups.
JOB SUMMARY
The Outreach Director for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative is responsible for the creation, deployment, and management of new and existing external activities which drive the institutional and programmatic profile of ABA ROLI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, fosters, and expands the brand identity, development, and institutional messaging for the U.S. and field offices;
- Ensures consistency in messaging, branding, and the strategic alignment of talking points and materials for ABA ROLI;
- Manages web content, design, branding, and messaging;
- Develops and deploys promotional materials, including brochures, annual reports, and PowerPoint presentations; Promotes the ABA and its international programs to external consumers and potential donors;
- Supervises the development of programming for annual outreach initiatives and institutional events;
- Manages alumni group matters, including membership, newsletters, and mailings; Engages alumni in legal specialist recruiting;
- Develops and implements strategies to expand new and retain existing partnership;
- Collaborates with ABA Communications and Media Relations Department to optimize the positive perception of the ABA and ROLI;
- Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing, development, and/or outreach for a non-profit organization;
- Previous experience establishing, fostering, developing, and retaining donors and volunteers;
- Previous experience creating donor and outreach initiatives in support of a broad organizational strategy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of an advanced degree from an accredited college, university, or an ABA-accredited law school;
Demonstrated experience managing outreach efforts in an international development, rule of law, or related area.
