ABA ROLI is a non-profit organization that implements legal reform programs in roughly 50 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 500 professional staff work¬ing abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organi¬zations, including human rights groups.

ABA ROLI seeks a skilled Program Associate to temporarily support the ongoing management and implementation of ABA ROLI’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) programs. This is a temporary assignment, spanning 10-12 weeks and beginning immediately. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the program officers and managers of overseas grant-funded programs;
  • Develops, monitors and revises program budgets; monitors monthly finance expenditures from overseas programs;
  • Prepares spending projections for overseas programs
  • Provides administrative backstopping for field-based programs, including contracting processes and submission and review of expense reports;
  • Ensures compliance with organization and donor regulations/policies;
  • Tracks a wide range of information, including payments, expense reports, contracts, and consultant information.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong written and verbal communication;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated research and writing skills;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently;
  • Working knowledge of detailed internet research and Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel;
  • International experience and knowledge of the Middle East and North Africa region preferred;
  • Knowledge of one or more regional languages helpful;
  • Experience with financial management of grant-funded programs preferred.
