1. Organization Overview
The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) is a non-profit organization that has worked for over 25 years in more than 100 countries to promote the rule of law, advance human rights, strengthen judicial institutions, support legal professionals and advance understanding of the law and rights of citizens. To this end, ABA ROLI has established partnerships with a wide range of actors, including institutions in the justice sector, civil society organizations, bar associations, legal aid organizations and lawyers, among others.
The candidate will be supporting the Egypt office operations and coordinate activities that ABA ROLI implements in country.
2. Position Overview
This position works closely with the MENA Division Director to ensure smooth office operations and adequate program support for successful activity implementation. The individual supports banking, logistics, trainings, and events as well as transportation and accommodation for travelers, consultants, and activity participants.
3. Responsibilities
Assists the MENA Director in the development and implementation of office and program operations systems, including banking, tax office, MOSS, and other Egyptian government authorities, personnel, property inventory and management, customs/shipping, event logistics, travel, and mail;
Works closely with the DC finance team to book expenses and collects quotes from vendors on the local market for goods and services, prepares payment packages as appropriate;
Organizes or supports as needed logistics for workshops, trainings, meetings, international and local consultants travel, including airline and hotel bookings;
Maintains administrative program and office records through both electronic and hard copy means, ensuring confidentiality;
Assists in acquiring necessary visas, accomodation, and residency approvals for staff and other participants;
Supports the DC Security Director on matters involving safety and security of personnel and property;
Supports the MENA Director in ensuring smooth operations by determining and procuring office and training supply needs, office space and equipment maintenance;
Responsible for maintenance of all hard and ecopies of program files;
Any other duties as assigned.
4. Qualifications
A bachelor degree in business management, administration or related study;
At least two years of proven administrative or assistant experience in an office setting;
Demonstrated experience supporting administrative functions, including event logistics;
Strong coordination skills and experience organizing information and program materials;
Advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Word and Excel;
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with effective interpersonal skills/relationships;
Highly organized, proactive, hardworking, focused, and attention to detail;
Fluent Arabic and English language required. Egyptian nationality is required.
Salary range varies from $750-1,000 USD per month based on education and experience.
