ABA ROLI is a non-profit pro­gram that implements legal reform programs in roughly 60 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 700 professional staff work­ing abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organi­zations, including human rights groups.

JOB SUMMARY

Finance Officer

ABA ROLI is seeking a Finance Officer to support the Finance Division’s oversight of ROLI and DOMESTIC Grants’ accounts, payroll, audits, and other general financial responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works independently with minimal supervision and manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly financial reports.

  • Analyzes overall ABA ROLI revenue/spending by funder and region and advises managers on spending patterns.

  • Provides payroll-related support to staff and volunteers posted overseas. Maintains internal budgets, ensures fair allocation of support costs to active programs; provides budgeting support to program staff.

  • Assist in the preparation and completion of audits

  • Ensures compliance with organization’s procurement policies and proper allocation of costs for domestic purchases; investigates erroneous charges and oversees corrections.

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or Master's degree and two years of related work experience required.

  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal and general ledger accounting skills, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and business writing and general analytical skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with one or more languages spoken in organization’s host countries preferred.

  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Previous experience interacting with program support staff, donors, and/or grantors.

  • Familiarity with Oracle and QuickBooks

  • Familiarity with Federal Regulations former OMB Circular A-122, A-133, A-110, SF-425 and/or the new Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200
