ABA ROLI is a non-profit pro­gram that implements legal reform programs in roughly 50 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 500 professional staff work­ing abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organi­zations, including human rights groups.

JOB SUMMARY

Assists in the design, development, and implementation of programs, projects, and activities of the Workers’ Rights and Global Programs Division, as well as other ABA ROLI divisions as needed. The role provides administrative, research, logistical, and general operational support across a wide range of regions and thematic areas, including workers’ rights, environmental rights, LGBTI rights, and women’s rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements one or more programs or projects, includes participation in program/project planning;
  • Ensures implementation of programs and projects conform to ABA policies;
  • Analyzes project/program performance throughout the process to measure progress against the project/program plan;
  • Serves as a point of contact for projects and communicates with member leaders and staff, including reporting on progress and results;
  • Remains accountable for successful execution of assigned projects;
  • May provide advanced administrative support functions in support of projects and/or major work groups;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Possession of basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Previous experience working in an office environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Spanish proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) at a professional or native level;
  • Familiarity with international development;
  • Experience supporting fundraising proposal development and design, including grant budgets and/or monitoring and evaluation plans;
  • Administrative support experience in an office setting (planning travel, processing expense reports, etc.).
