ABA ROLI is a non-profit program that implements legal reform programs in roughly 40 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 400 professional staff working abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organizations, including human rights groups.
ABA ROLI seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for a period of 12-months in its office in Mexico City, with possible travel throughout the country. Candidates need to the able to work legally in Mexico.
JOB SUMMARY
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer supports the Country Director in the implementation of ABA ROLI’s "New Advocates for Mexican Justice" Program ("Nuevos Abogados para el Sistema de Justicia en Mexico"), providing programmatic oversight and technical advice regarding program goals and activities through data analysis, and in coordination with Program Officers. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for elaborating M&E reports and developing and implementing long and short-term strategies, work plans, and activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Elaborates M&E plan reports;
· Develops and implements long- and short-term strategies, work plans, and activities;
· Supports technical activities;
· Provides technical advice and support to counterparts and donors, regarding program goals and activities, through data analysis;
· Conducts programmatic oversight in coordination with the Program Officers;
· Provides administrative, logistical and financial support related to the Program;
· Leads the preparation of reports for ABA ROLI and donors;
· Provides business development support and outreach.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree in Political Science, Communications or another related field;
· Experience in research or data analysis.
· Strong knowledge of computational systems and data analysis.
· Previous experience working in Latin America, particularly Mexico;
· Strong managerial skills;
· Strong interpersonal skills;
· Strong written and verbal communication skills;
· Fluency in Spanish;
Preferred:
· Previous experience with U.S. government-funded international programs;
· Previous experience in applied research and survey design;
· Knowledge of Qualtrics;
· Professional fluency in English;
· Previous experience in criminal justice related issues.
· Strong commitment to rule of law principles.
